Happiness is a Practice Not a Destination

Karen Guggenheim believes that her purpose is to,

“Make a case for happiness by highlighting the opportunities for win-win scenarios created by learning and implementing evidence-based tools and policies that increase the happiness and wellbeing of people, organizations, and communities.”

She views happiness not as a transient emotion but as a sustainable, intentional practice rooted in science and she emphasizes that happiness is a byproduct of living a meaningful life, achieved through daily habits that promote emotional and cognitive well-being. These include mindfulness, gratitude, kindness, and purpose-driven actions. Her approach integrates insights from positive psychology, focusing on building resilience and fostering environments that support individual and collective flourishing.

Through her work, Guggenheim has transformed personal grief into a global mission, demonstrating that happiness is not only attainable after loss but also teachable. Her efforts continue to inspire individuals and organizations worldwide to prioritize well-being, fostering a ripple effect of positive change across communities .
