Come, rest, and rediscover the goodness within you.
“I feel that I am good enough and can cope with whatever life throws at me. I feel happier in my skin and have great gratitude for all the good things in my life right now.“
Fiona is delighted to bring her Self-Compassion Training to you in a full-day, in-person event.
Self-compassion is not merely a buzzword; it’s the cornerstone of true personal growth and happiness. On the day Fiona will teach and explore the research by leaders in the field, such as Kristin Neff and Paul Gilbert, who have both demonstrated that self-compassion is a vital ingredient for emotional resilience and overall well-being.
Neff, a pioneer in self-compassion research, defines it as “being open to and moved by one’s own suffering, experiencing feelings of caring and kindness toward oneself, taking an understanding, non-judgmental attitude toward one’s inadequacies and failures.”
Embracing self-compassion means treating ourselves with the same warmth, care, and understanding that we naturally offer to our loved ones.
Gilbert’s work complements this perspective by emphasising the importance of self-compassion in alleviating emotional suffering. He highlights that self-compassion can help us break free from the cycle of self-criticism and self-doubt, fostering emotional resilience and mental well-being.
You will learn to bring these principles to life in a way that is practical and helpful to help you navigate relationships this Christmas and cope with the darker months of the year.
By becoming aware of the impact of self-compassion on our mental and emotional well-being and learning to integrate self-compassion into our daily lives the benefits become achievable for everyone. Learning to be kind to yourself can transform the winter months into an opportunity to become emotionally resilient as we acknowledge the challenges that the shorter and darker days bring.
The good news is that you can train in the art of self-compassion in the same way you learn any other skill such as driving a car, playing an instrument or practising mindfulness.
Self-compassion develops your emotional resilience and boosts your overall sense of well-being.
