Dear *|FNAME|*

This coming Sunday is World Mental health Day and I have a 'mental' busy schedule ahead to help celebrate it and raise awareness!

The theme this year, as set out by the World Health Organisation is:

Mental Health in an Unequal World. Mental health care for all: let's make it a reality.

Unfortunately, the reality for many is that they suffer in silence. The statistics show,

"75-95% of people with mental disorders in low and middle-income countries are unable to access mental health services at all and access in high-income countries is not much better."
(World Federation for Mental Health)

In true positive psychology tradition, I am trained not to focus on the problem but on what we can all do to make the situation better. My weekly 'Therapy on the Couch' Instagram live and this blog are some of  my ways of providing free help to all. The Building Emotional Resilience Series of Webinars commencing on Wednesday 13th with Pat Divilly is also my way of reaching people who otherwise could not access or afford help. It may be a drop in the ocean, but each drop helps!

You too can play your part in helping.  If you suspect someone is struggling with their mental health, please take the time to reach out and let them know you care. Listen to them if they are willing to speak and if not, try to be a regular beam of light in their life.  Perhaps you could send them silly videos to make them laugh, suggest good books and movies they might enjoy, encourage them to go for walks in nature.  We can all get caught up in our own busyness but this week I beseech you to consider in your circle of friends, neighbors, and even your close family. If one of them needs some extra TLC, be that person to help them.

I'll be on Today FM at 9.30 am this morning answering listeners' questions about mental health so tune in if you can, and please do spread the word on the free content that I offer, it is there for you and the people you love.
New this Week!

On my 'Therapy on the Couch,' Instagram Live session this Wednesday 6th October I will be discussing all things mental health and taking the time to answer YOUR questions. You can ask me in the comments section about any challenge you are facing with your own mental health or indeed if you are concerned about someone else.  If you would like to come on as a guest on a future session and receive personal and free one-to-one hypnotherapy, please send me a message here or on Instagram

There were goosebumps, tears, and laughter at the final Public Speaking Workshop last Thursday. The group made incredible progress and I will share some of the testimonials next week.  I plan to do a second series of workshops in January 2022 which will be open to those who attended the Public Speaking Masterclass back in June. If you missed that you can still register to watch the playback.

Thanks to all of you on my consultation waiting list for your patience; my brand new one-to-one hypnotherapy coaching program has been privately launched, exclusively to those on the waiting list. If you have recently joined the waiting list (as many have) I will contact you shortly.

LIVE EVENTS!

I will be hosting a self-love workshop as part of The Red-Line Book Festival on Monday, October 11th.  Tickets are limited and FREE. Find out more here.

I will also be interviewing my good friend and fellow author, Dermot Wheelan on Friday, October 15th in The Civic Theatre, Tallaght as part of The Red Line Book Festival.  Again tickets are free and more info and booking available here.

Positive Mental Health!

"Having been to a lot of psychologists throughout the years and gotten some relief for my depression and anxiety I never shook off that extreme self loathing I had for myself, in fact I didn't realize I was so self critical until I started doing The Positive Habit online course. I am so aware of myself, my thoughts and the world around me. I know my triggers, have self compassion and am learning how to take care of myself which spreads positivity all around. I could not recommend this course enough no matter where you are in your own journey this course will only enhance your life. Thank you Fiona for this wonderful gift. Life is so precious and you have shown me that. I am most definitely going to do the Sustaining Positivity Course."
