About Dr Mary Ryan

Dr. Mary Ryan is a highly respected Consultant Endocrinologist with a specialization in diabetes, thyroid disease, adrenal and pituitary disorders, and metabolic diseases such as obesity and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). She obtained her medical degree (MB BCH BAO) from Trinity College Dublin in 1992 and further specialized in Endocrinology and General Medicine. Dr Ryan is a member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP UK) and holds an MD focused on diabetes and obesity, which she completed with Professor Gerald Tomkin at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.

In her clinical practice, Dr. Ryan provides outpatient and inpatient care, addressing a wide range of hormone-related disorders. She is also active in public health discussions and frequently contributes to media and podcasts. Her recent book, It’s Probably Your Hormones, emphasizes the importance of hormone health and offers guidance on balancing hormones to improve overall well-being
